Whitsun 2022 (Saturday 4th June)
Whitsun/Jubilee dancing schedule and other useful information
Well this event has passed for another year but we had a fabulous day of dance. Apart from a spell of rain mid-day the weather was fine, the gardens were lovely, and our hosts were wonderful. The day was capped off by a fabulous display of dancing by our guests Peterborough Morris. We'll try to get some pictures up before too long and we will leave this page for information until it is time to refresh it for 2023.
This year the Whitsun (Whit Monday) Morris dancing in Bampton will take place in the middle of the long weekend of celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
Morris dancing has been part of Bampton's Whitsun (now Spring Bank Holiday) festivities for centuries. Here is the information you need to join us in this ancient tradition. Dancing begins early with each side starting off at their home pub and carries on until late afternoon when there is a break for tea (and perhaps a bit more). Dancing resumes around 6:00 pm with the invited sides taking over the show at various locations.
