Whitsun 2023 (Monday, 29th May)
Whitsun dancing schedule and other useful information
Whit Monday 2023 has now passed but we will leave this page up until next year so visitors can get an idea of what a typical Whitsun Day of Dance looks like. We'll try to get some photos up soon.
Morris dancing has been part of Bampton's Whitsun (now Spring Bank Holiday) festivities for centuries. Here is the information you need to join us in this ancient tradition. Dancing begins early with each side starting off at their home pub and carries on until late afternoon when there is a break for tea (and perhaps a bit more). Dancing resumes around 6:00 pm with the invited sides taking over the show at various locations around the centre of town.
This year we are delighted to welcome Winchester Morris Men and Mad Jack's Morris as our guest sides.
