Well, Whit Monday 2019 is now over, and a great day it was for us and our guests. We will leave this page up for the record until Whitsuntide approaches again and we update it for 2020. Pictures will be going up eventually, but if you can't wait take a look at the YouTube offering from our friends a Dengie Films that includes most of our afternoon stands.
Morris dancing has been part of Bampton's Whitsun (now Spring Bank Holiday) festivities for centuries. Here is the information you need to join us in this ancient tradition. Dancing begins early with each side starting off at their home pub and carries on until late afternoon when there is a break for tea (and perhaps a bit more). Dancing resumes around 6:00 pm with the invited sides taking over the show at various locations. By tradition the invited sides do not appear on the streets of Bampton 'in kit' before 6:00 pm.
For our guest sides this year we are delighted to welcome Stanton Harcourt and Thames Valley Morris Men.
